Open resin printing setup on Nobel 1.0

Postby Tufa50 » Mon Oct 30, 2017 10:14 pm

What are some of the current setups the have been tried for some of the open resin

Maker juice labs G+

Fun todo

The ones that worked why they worked (do you think the print would failed if setup different, lifted etc.)

The ones that failed and why they failed was it lifted, was brim not added etc.

Than did the next print work after the failed print what was the charges made.

List setup

Testing Maker Juice G + White
Test 1 and 2 where done with the default setting both failed
1st due to setup with uplift.( was a fail from start also failed with xyz with uplift.)

Testing Maker Juice G + white test 3 and 4 Black on test 5
Setup density high contrast med with inner support

Brim 5
Laser 60
Outline 15
Infill 15
Wait time 12
Peeling 30500
Wait 1 ms 600
Wait 2 ms 0
Wait 3 ms 3600

All passed

Test 6
Maker Juice G+ Black
Med contrast small inner support

Brim 5
Laser 58
Outline 13
Infill 13
Wait time 12
Peeling 30400
Wait 1 ms 550
Wait 2 ms 0
Wait 3 ms 3550

Passed

Test 7
Maker Juice G+ Black
Two parts to be printed
One uplifted one not but supported inside NOTE NO BRIM Used

Brim 0
Laser 57
Outline 12
Infill 12
Wait time 10
Peeling 30300
Wait 1 ms 525
Wait 2 ms 0
Wait 3 ms 3525

Larger item failed totally uplifted item was small held to platform but top of print was fail. Bottom of print was a fail but could be because of disbondment of some supports.

Test 8
Maker Juice G+ Black

Brim 5
Laser 58
Outline 12
Infill 12
Wait time 10
Peeling 30300
Wait 1 ms 525
Wait 2 ms 0
Wait 3 ms 3525

Passed

Test 9 the round flat ringed surface

Maker Juice G+

Brim 5
Laser 58
Outline 12
Infill 12
Wait time 10
Peeling 30300
Wait 1 ms 525
Wait 2 ms 0
Wait 3 ms 3525

Pass

Why it pass over test 7 possible because setup has brim, uplifted at angle not flat.

Did not have any disbondmint from supports, edges printed cleaner, but side supported still not printed clean may be a design flaw.

Temp Conclusion Use

For Maker Juice G+
Setup of

Maker Juice G+

Will began test printing

On Fun To Do

After 11/9/17

Will use default for 1st print than use the last Maker Juice G+ setup

Please post any setups that improve on these results or disprove the results.

One print failed on that setup could be due the design of the model, the support, where on the platform or the X factor.

Do believe that the statement made on one the post the platform that is sand blasted has less printing failures due to higher surface ahearance, however blasting total surface may cause too much.

I will test out later by blasting a series of round spots on platform which it should allow a easier disbondment from platform.

Test 10
Just print with brim 5
Maker Juice G+ Black

Brim 5
Laser 57
Outline 12
Infill 12
Wait time 10
Peeling 30300
Wait 1 ms 525
Wait 2 ms 0
Wait 3 ms 3525

Passed
Note: reprinted this print 2 more times both prints match the 1st match.

So this will be the current setup for Maker Juice G+

But Will print one more tonight to try to make fail

New setup

Brim 4
Laser 56
Outline 11
Infill 11
Wait time 10
Peeling 30300
Wait 1 ms 525
Wait 2 ms 0
Wait 3 ms 3525

Reduced brim, laser, outline and infill to see if I will get a puddle on this one.

Pass test, testing this setup on a larger print.

On the larger print the print size was the about the same height but it was double the length, the test that pass was more rounded this was a rectangle.

The item stayed on the platform and the supports all printed however on the top of one side the edge did not completely print it was deformed. The other side which has the same features printed perfect.

So failed. May need more supports, or move laser up to 57.

But looking at the need to blast the platform for more bondment to plat thus allowing to remove the brim on items that it should not be needed on like these prints.

Currently best setup for .1 Note for should be able to reduce Brim easily to 4.
Maker Juice G+ Black

Brim 5
Laser 57
Outline 12
Infill 12
Wait time 10

VOC’s on the three resins

Best
Least amount almost none Would class as very low voc

Maker Juice G+

Low voc

Fun to do (note: till someone post’s a setup that works) it’s a gamble wheather it will print or not.

Xyz has the highest Voc of the three, would think it requires ventilation to use.

Maker Juice I forget to turn on my ventilation on and don’t need a mask.

However I would use ventilation and a mask, its your choice. Me i’m Using both.
